2026 BOARD OF TRUSTEES DIRECTORY

President: Matt Holland
Matt has served as a trustee, VP of Development, and currently as president for a second term, although he worked with the Cobblestone Society prior to joining the board as the United Way grant writer. He has volunteered and worked professionally at non-profits, particularly history museums for over two decades, using knowledge gained from a master’s degree in Anthropology from SUNY UB, a BA in History with honors from the University of Oregon, and studies as a Fulbright Scholar in Denmark.

Executive Vice President: Dick Remley
Dick was president of the board in 2019 but mainly served as Executive VP for his tenure over the years and has been the director of the Visitors Center capital campaign. He owned a commercial printing business for 35 years and has been the current supervisor for the Town of Albion since 2018.

VP of Development: Erin Anheier
Erin joined the board in 2018, became VP of Development in 2019, president from 2020-2023, and is a trustee once again, with experience from other nonprofit boards, including the Landmark Society of Western NY. She retired from the auto industry as an executive level Human Resources manager and preservationist with a lifelong interest in architecture and local history.

Secretary: Mary Zangerle
A lifelong resident of Orleans County, Mary is a retired library director. She has been involved in Cobblestone Museum activities in various capacities since 2012 and has served as secretary of the board since 2024.

Treasurer: Maarit Vaga
Maarit Vaga’s service began as a trustee in 2019, then secretary from 2022-2023, and currently she is in her second term as the treasurer. She works as a relationship manager in government banking at Evans Bank, N.A. and resides in a 200+ year-old house in the Village of Albion.
Membership Secretary: Gail Johnson
Gail was appointed treasurer to fill a mid-year vacancy in 2016 and has since served as membership secretary. A retired social studies teacher after 32 years, she has been a philanthropist for 45 years, and Life member of the Cobblestone Museum since acquiring a Charter student membership in 1960.

Corresponding Secretary: Chris Capurso
Ellen Christine Capurso is a retired healthcare worker, serving over 35 years in a variety of healthcare settings, including a director of out-patient services. A longtime supporter of the Cobblestone Museum, she joined the board in 2021 and is currently training to be a museum docent in 2025, while serving as corresponding secretary.

Christine Sartwell
Christine grew up on Ridge Road, a neighbor to several historic cobblestone homes, which inspired appreciation of their masonry and early connection to the Cobblestone Museum through family donations of artifacts to its permanent collection. A retiree from Orleans County government for over 35 years and statewide union officer, she has been a board member since 2018 and is the VP of Development for a second term.

Tim Tierney
Tim retired from the NYS Department of Corrections after 31 years. He volunteered pumping gas in Albion for the elderly for several years until the program was cancelled. He volunteers to drive veterans to their doctors’ appointments. His hobbies are woodworking and pickleball. Tim’s wife LuAnn is a Life member of the Museum, and the couple are current members at the Patron level.

Deborah Pratt Wood
Deborah grew up in the hamlet of Brockville located in the Town of Murray. She is a former educator, special collections librarian/resident historian & historical interpreter and presently, Town of Murray historian. Deborah has been a friend, member, and former trustee of the Cobblestone Museum.

Sylvia Goodstine
Sylvia has been a volunteer docent with the Cobblestone Museum for three years, volunteered with Hospice for five years, and is beginning her first 3-year term as a trustee. She is a retired nurse specializing in dementia.

C. W. “Bill” Lattin
Bill served as Orleans County Historian from 1979-2014 and Director & Curator of the Cobblestone Museum from Jan. 1971 – Dec. 2010, and while in this role, he enlarged the collection, including the acquisition, moving and preservation of several historic and architecturally significant buildings. He joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and has been an active board member, assumed VP roles multiple times and serves on the planning committee for the Visitors Center.

Brenda Radzinski
Brenda’s involvement began after retirement from a 34-year career at Social Services to satisfy her love of history and spend time with like-minded people. She began as a gardening volunteer in 2016, then became a docent, and is beginning a 3-year term as a trustee, after serving from 2018 until 2023.

Lawrence C. Albanese
Larry retired from the electronics industry after nearly 50 years, spending 30 years as a Senior Technical Field Sales Engineer for top manufacturers’ representatives. He has been a Cobblestone Museum Life member spanning 20+ years and is entering his second year of service as a trustee.

Fred Miller
A member of the Cobblestone Society since 2018, he is on the fund-raising committee for the Visitors Center and is serving as a trustee until 2026. An Orleans County Legislator for over 10 years, he owned a hardware store for 33 years in a 3-story sandstone building in downtown Albion.

Marty Taber,
Father of seven, he continues full-time employment marking 49 years in the Human Services field. He has served many years as a trustee since 2017, remaining active as a docent, Buildings & Grounds Committee member, and “willing to do whatever I can” volunteer.

Doreen Wilson
Doreen has been a member of the Cobblestone Society for more than three years, joined the Board of Trustees in 2023 and has served as chair of the Annual Meeting and a volunteer. Retired after more than 30 years as a telecommunications consultant, she is a co-owner of a business servicing model trains for Wegmans Supermarkets and has experience in various roles for non-profit organizations.
